This is a Taylor 314CE with a damaged top. The customer bought the guitar in this condition and wanted to have the top rebuilt.

The cracks were to severe to use a splint and reglue. The braces were also cracked.

Although the top needed to be replaced, the back, sides, and neck were in perfect condition.

I started by removing the pickguard first. If I could save it I wanted to reuse it, if not I'll would use it as a template.

The bridge was next. I had to be careful because I really didn't want to make a new one.

With the bridge removed, it was time to start on the top removal.
|
After the binding was routed off, a heated spatual was used to break the glue joint on the top.

In some places a razor blade was used to crack the glue joint
