School of Biological Science and Technology

The School of Biological Science and Technology of Minnan Normal University, formerly established in 2002 in Zhangzhou Normal University, is composed of departments such as the Department of Biological Science, the Department of Horticulture, the Department of Landscape Architecture, the Department of Food Science, and the Engineering and Technology Center of the Fungi Industry. The school has seven undergraduate programs, namely Biology (Teacher Education), Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Food Science and Engineering, Food Quality and Safety, Food Nutrition and Health. There are 1479 full-time students, including 32 graduate students. Since its establishment, the school has trained a large number of teachers, engineers, agronomists and other professionals. Most graduates have become the backbone of their work units.

There are 113 faculty members, including 88 full-time teachers, 55 associate professors and above, 8 professors and 53 teachers with doctoral degrees. A total of 20 teachers have visited universities such as Tsinghua University, Xiamen University, Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Taiwan University. 17 teachers applied for the government-sponsored Study Abroad Fund to carry out cooperative research in well-known foreign universities in the United States, Canada, etc. Among the full-time teachers, there are 22 master tutors, 1 provincial food safety expert, 15 municipal food safety experts, 21 provincial science and technology commissioners, 6 provincial teams of science and technology commissioners. 6 teachers were selected for the 121 talent plan project,7 were selected as the academic backbone, and 1 was selected as the academic leader of the university.
